As part of Lehigh Valley Passport to History month, Easton Cemetery invites visitors of all ages to learn about our past, present and future. This year's event will focus on our volunteer initiatives including the grave gardeners and gravestone cleaners.
At Easton Cemetery (401 N. 7th Street, Easton)

12:15 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:15 pm and 3:15 pm | Docent Tours
Meet at the Main Entrance
We're inviting our docents to show attendees their favorite gravestones, places, scenery and history. Each tour will be unique, and last approximately 45 minutes. Please be prepared to walk on pavement and loose gravel, and some mild hills.
12:00 pm - 1:30 pm | Grave Gardening
Meet at Section F
Mary Nunes will talk about her work with the French graves of Jacob and Elizabeth Paulus - the plantings and their history. Other Grave Gardeners will stop by throughout the afternoon to provide information about the graves they are “tending.”
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm | Gravestone Cleaning Demonstration
Meet at the Lucy Barnett grave
Program Manager Kelly Feathers will demonstrate the proper technique for cleaning gravestones.
1:30 pm | Honoring Veterans
Meet at the Chapel
Jonathan Prostak has spent many years going through Easton and Easton Heights Cemeteries making sure that each veteran has the proper flag holder. He is also recording information about each veteran.
He will give a brief talk entitled “Recognizing the Veterans of Easton Cemetery: Finding, Researching, Documenting and Marking the Graves of 3,000 American Military Veterans in the Easton and Easton Heights Cemeteries.” He will then lead a walk through the cemetery pointing out the special flag holders.

11:30 am - 6:00 pm | Heritage Day Festival
If you're attending Heritage Day in downtown Easton on Sunday, stop by our information table and check out the Easton Cemetery display. We'll be in the non-profit area.
